Homemade Harry Potter House Elves Costume for Dogs
I love everything about fall, especially movies and sitcoms that focus on magic. As a little girl, I liked to think of myself as a witch. I still do sometimes. I always watched Sabrina the Teenage Witch (the cartoon and the sitcom) and I loved The Chronicals of Narnia, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and any other moody or magical book series you can think of. I immediately fell in love with Harry Potter while watching the first movie when I was seven. I collected everything I could find that was related to The Wizarding World (Books, stationary, candy, magazines, etc.). The very first time I took the Harry Potter Sorting Hat quiz on Pottermore (because who hasn’t taken it multiple times), I was sorted into Hufflepuff. I was so disappointed, and all of my friends made fun of me. (We were the geekiest 17-year-olds you’d ever met.)
Everyone thinks they are Gryffindor because that’s the focus of the Harry Potter universe, but as I learned more about Hufflepuff House it all made sense. Of course this is just a book and no one solely has the characteristics of one house without sharing similarities with another house, but for the sake of The Wizarding World, I do believe I would have been placed into Hufflepuff if I attended Hogwarts. Diligence, Loyalty, Kindness, Tolerance; Yup! That sounds like me and any other caregiver out there. I also figured I’d probably also work for S.P.E.W. (Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare), so I decided to make DIY house elf costumes for Maxx and Roxxi this Halloween. It was a hassle. As you can see from the thumbnail, Roxxi was not having it.
Leave a comment below letting me know what house you think you’d be sorted into. If you’ve taken the Sorting Hat quiz, do you think the results were spot on or a bunch of mumbo jumbo?
Thanks for reading and watching,
